A-level media is kinda complicated but it’s also interesting. So far, I have learnt the 3 media platforms, which includes e-media, print and Broadcast. Media platform is simply the technology through we receive media products.

media representations- Who is being represented?

in what way?

why is the subjects being represented in this way etc?

Media language- connotations and denotations?

the significants of settings/lighting etc.

what sound and visual techniques are used to convey meaning. e.g. camera positioning,

how the images and sounds have been combined?

Narrative- How is this structured and organised?

how is the audience positioned in relation to the narrative?

what are the roles of features?

Genre- what genre fits into the text that it is belonged to?

what are the major themes of the genre?

how does the audience relate to this specific genre?

institutions- is the source a public service or commercial institutions?

what difference does this institution make?

who controls the institution/ does this matter?

values and ideology- what are the major vales and ideology?

does the text fir into this?

what criteria have been used to show this?

Audiences- what is the target audience?

how does the scheduling and positioning affect the assumptions of the audiences?

how do you the size of the audience?
