This shows how you shouldn't be tricked into what you see in adverts.
The advert (Dove) represents how institutions manipulates a photo.

A-level media is kinda complicated but it’s also interesting. So far, I have learnt the 3 media platforms, which includes e-media, print and Broadcast. Media platform is simply the technology through we receive media products. media representations- Who is being represented? in what way? why is the subjects being represented in this way etc? Media language- connotations and denotations? the significants of settings/lighting etc. what sound and visual techniques are used to convey meaning. e.g. camera positioning, how the images and sounds have been combined?
Narrative- How is this structured and organised?
how is the audience positioned in relation to the narrative?
what are the roles of features?
Genre- what genre fits into the text that it is belonged to?
what are the major themes of the genre?
how does the audience relate to this specific genre?
institutions- is the source a public service or commercial institutions?
what difference does this institution make?
who controls the institution/ does this matter?
values and ideology- what are the major vales and ideology?
does the text fir into this?
what criteria have been used to show this?
Audiences- what is the target audience?
how does the scheduling and positioning affect the assumptions of the audiences?
how do you the size of the audience?

what has media done to me?
My name is Rawan; Im 16 and i am currently studying A-Level media in 'Burlington Danes Academy Sixth Form'. i studied media for TWO years for GCSE's and achieved a grade B which is good as i thought i wouldnt achieve anything above a D lol. i proved them wrong :D
i have seen a major difference in GCSE'S and A-Levels.
How much knowledge can be provided in this site?
A lot of knowledge can be provided as i have been studying the subject and have gone through all the key concepts to do with media and explored the way media has been used in the society.
An example of this is Representation, Ideology, Institution, genre, Language, Narrative, and Audience
My media Journey…
My media journey has given me a chance to explore ways in which media has changed our lives.
As you should know media is not just television, magazines and newspapers, it is also about the society and how the media influences us.
